What is kief?

Kief, sometimes transliterated as keef , shish kief or kif, refers to the resinous trichomes of cannabis that may accumulate in containers or be sifted from loose, dry cannabis flower with a mesh screen or sieve. Kief refers to the resin glands which contain the terpenes and cannabinoids that make cannabis so unique. Shish kief contains a much higher concentration of psychoactive cannabinoids, such as CBD, than that of the cannabis flowers from which it is derived. Traditionally, kief has been pressed into cakes of hashish for convenience in storage, but can be vaporized or smoked in either form. How do you use CBD kief?

CBD kief is versatile and can be used in a number of ways. It can be crumbled and smoked in a joint or pipe, vaporized, or cooked with and eaten. If you choose to cook with CBD kief, you will first need to decarboxylate it.

Is CBD kief legal?

When it is made from EU certificated industrial hemp strains of cannabis grown under licence, then yes CBD pressed trichomes is completely legal. This is because hemp is legal to cultivate under the Industrial Hemp Farming Act of 2015.
